Huntington Beach Host Lions Club's Crabfest 2009

This all you can eat Crabfest fundraising event is usually a hit with everyone. To be held this year in the large beer hall at Old World German Village Restaurant. Proceeds help support various charities supported by the H.B. Host Lions Club. The public is invited to participate. Fun for all ages!

German American Heritage Day at Old World Village

Description: German American Brass Band and free food for the first 500 folks will be offered. A full bar and pay for meals and snacks are also available.
Dachshund Races add fun to the day and begin at 1:00 PM.

Weiner National Dachshund Races

Description: Dozens of dachshunds will scramble in pursuit of fame and imaginative lures as hundreds of spectators cheer them on. Some of the dogs will have trained for minutes with a team of two handlers each, who encourage, cajole and plead with the willful little dogs to focus on the high-stakes race instead of interesting sights, sounds and smells along the route. The public can register their dachshunds to race. The procedure is to stand at the end of the gated track each dog is placed into and cajole their pet to run to you. The track is fairly short so the run is not strenuous for most pets.
