Breakfast at the Huntington Harbour Yacht Club (HHYC)
This monthly breakfast is designed to introduce O.C. residents to the Huntington Harbour Yacht Club. Come and meet our commodore, staff officers and members. A nice buffet style breakfast is served at the low cost of $8. Boat ownership not required for membership! Membership includes reciprocation rights for docking & dining at various local and global yacht clubs. Plus they have a great Children's Instructional Sailing Program! HHYC membership includes rights to join the Harbor Rod & Reel Club.

Silver Surfers (Every Sunday Through August 26, 2007)
Description: This new weekend program aimed at teaching surfing to men and women over age 50 is lighthearted on the subject of age and heavy on the concept of fun. Participants learn to take the waves with the same skill and zeal of surfers half their age.

Art Exhibit - On Board
Description: On Board is a contemporary look at surfing and surfboards.
This international exhibition will feature new works by artists working in Cuba, the Netherlands, and Vietnam. These site-specific installations are related to the ocean, including surfing, and will involve public related actions in Huntington Beach and the artists’ countries.

Adventure Playground (Through August 18th)
Description: This summer kids can have a fun filled adventure just like their favorite characters from Mark Twain's novels. Check out Tom Sawyer's island with a zip-line, rope bridge and rafts.

Play - And Then There Was Nun (Through July 15th)
Description: Stylized after Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians, the story revolves around ten members of the Holy Order of the Sisters of San Andreas who have gathered to meet at Grauman's Chinese Island for their annual retreat. The Huntington Beach Playhouse is a not-for-profit organization that presents dramatic, comedy and musical productions that offer opportunities for people of all ages to advance their stagecraft and technical skills.

Surf Academy Seapoint Surf Camps (Through August 24th)
Description: During the week, half and full-day Surf Camps are offered for kids ages eight to 17. Additionally, Surf Academy has a program for creative, adventurous children between the ages of five and seven. The "Beach Kids" program includes surfing, body boarding, body surfing, beach games, arts and crafts and surf-story time. On Friday of each week, parents are invited to enjoy an Aloha Day Luau and proudly watch their kids surf.
Event Cost: $200 for half day lessons and $255 for full day lessons per week. Days: Mon., Tue., Wed., Thurs., Fri.

Surf City Locals Night (Continued every Tuesday in July)
Description: The Downtown H.B. Business Association and the H.B. Restaurant Association jointly host Surf City Locals Night, an event designed to invite the residents of H.B. to experience the wonderful restaurants and shopping opportunities available in the new, revitalized downtown. Two whole blocks of Main Street are blockaded for this weekly event with a farmer’s market, street venders, face painting, musicians, & various entertainers.

Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament (Wednesdays through August 29th) Description: This high-tech Las Vegas style approach pits fans against other players via Centerfield’s own NTN Poker video terminals. There are weekly winners, with the grand prize winner (the player with the most weekly wins) receiving a trophy, and a complimentary one-week stay in Las Vegas.

103rd Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade
Description: Considered to be the largest Independence Day parade west of the Mississippi, featuring more than 300 entries including bands, floats, celebrities, local dignitaries, equestrians and community groups. The parade heads south to Main Street, proceeds up Main through the downtown area, ending at Yorktown Avenue and Main Street. Parking: Pacific Coast Highway between Beach Blvd. and Goldenwest Street will be closed from 5:00 AM. to 11:00 AM, Main Street, which will close at 5:00 AM. will reopen (other than the first 3 blocks) approximately 1:00 PM or when the parade route is cleared. Parade viewers can enter the downtown area off Goldenwest Street on Orange or Palm Avenues. The Main Street Parking Structure located at Lake Street between Walnut and Olive Avenues or Plaza Almeria Parking at Orange & Main Street. "Staking out": an area for viewing is allowed after 7:00 AM on July 3rd. Items must be removed by 2:00 PM on July 4th.
Street-side Viewing Cost: Free.
Grandstand Viewing Cost: TBD. Parade Grand Stand tickets can be purchased at Lake Park at Main St. and 11th Streets.

The Surf City 5K Run and Fitness Expo.
Description: Kick off the 4th of July with the Surf City Run annually one of the top 5K runs in Southern California join over 3000 of your fellow runners, friends and neighbors celebrate the 4th as only Southern California can. The Fitness Expo, presented by Clif Bar will feature music, food, games and the latest in health and fitness. All races will start and finish at Huntington Beach High School.

Hosted by the HB Kiwanis Club, this breakfast is held in the lake street park.
This year the location has been moved to the Main Street side of the park.

Fireworks Extravaganza
Description: After the sun sets, thousands of fireworks, synchronized to music will be launched from the Huntington Beach Pier. The safe and exciting professional display will amaze visitors of all ages. Bring food, a warm blanket, beach chairs and relax under the stars on the beach. As always, this is a free event for beach goers.
Note: Grandstand seating will be available on the HB Pier for a modest fee of $10. It is advised those interested in viewing the fireworks arrive between 5:00 and 6:00 PM.
Note: Pacific Coast Highway between Golden West Street and Beach Boulevard will be closed to traffic from 7:00 to 11:00 PM.

Play - Moon Over Buffalo (Through July 15th)
Description: This hilarious backstage farce, by the author of Lend Me a Tenor, is sure to leave audiences in stitches! The play centers around a New York husband-and-wife acting duo on the brink of professional success, personal disaster and divorce. When Hollywood director, Frank Capra, loses the stars of his latest Hollywood picture, he rushes to New York to catch George and Charlotte in their current repertory productions of Cyrano de Bergerac and Private Lives. Unfortunately, Capra’s timing couldn’t be worse, as misunderstandings, mistaken identities and theatrical mayhem ensues!

HB Pro/Am Surf Series Surfing Competition
Description: The Huntington Beach Surf Series will include the following: Saturday will be all amateur divisions- Boy’s, JR’s, Men’s, Super Men’s, Grom’s, Master’s, Longboard’s, Women’s. On Sunday, the Pro division will be held. This event is owned and operated by world class surf champion, Jeff Deffenbaugh and his brother Barry. All events will be held at the pier, excluding July 7th and 8th at Golden West Street, and August 11th and 12th at 9th Street.

German-American Heritage Day & Dachshund Races
Description: Live bands, dance groups, German beer, bratwurst, chicken bouncy house, carnival games, face painting fun for the whole family, plus dozens of dachshunds will scramble in pursuit of fame and imaginative lures as hundreds of spectators cheer them on. Some of the dogs will have trained for minutes with a team of two handlers each, who encourage, cajole and plead with the willful little dogs to focus on the high-stakes race instead of interesting sights, sounds and smells along the route.

Cowabunga Cattle Drive Description: The cattle drive will include 100 head of cattle, 25 riders and cattle dogs. From Golden West Street at Pacific Coast Highway, the cattle will proceed 1.5 miles to the pier. Upon their arrival at the pier, there will be a coordinated media event to tie the cattle drive into the US Open of Surfing.
