Kid’s Club at Bella Terra Shopping Center

Description: Grab the kids and come out and play at Bella Terra! Enjoy free children's activities and entertainment in the Bella Terra amphitheater, just outside of Century Theaters. From puppets to storytellers, jugglers to magicians, Bella Terra offers wholesome fun for pre-schoolers and their adults! Kids Club events are held every Monday.

Aug. 11th, Russian Circus will perform *** Tim and Boris return to Bella Terra with a Circus Tent full of fun!

Boardfest All Girls Surfing and Skateboarding Event

Description: Free concerts, free games, booths, and competition with top female athletes in beach sports such as surfing and skateboarding. Time: Daily begins at 9:00 AM. to 5:00 PM. Live entertainment starts daily at 10:00 AM.

Civil War Re-enactment and Encampment

Description: Live canon battles, camps, actors in costume and food vendors. Schedule: Saturday, Sept. 1:00 – 10:00 PM. Opens, 1:30 p.m. battle; living history weapons demo at 2:30 PM, final battle at 4:00 PM, twilight concert to follow. Sunday, Sept. 2 - Church service at 8:00 AM., camp opens at 9:00 AM., first battle at 11:00 AM, weapons demo at Noon, 2nd battle at 2:00 PM.

Adventure Playground at Huntington Beach Central Park

Description: Kids can raft on a small pond, navigate a rope bridge, go down a mud slide or build forts at Adventure Playground, just like Huck Finn or Tom Sawyer. Children must wear tennis shoes and be prepared to get dirty. Adventure playground offers a shower and changing area, so please bring extra clothes, a bag and a towel, as kids will get dirty. Best suited for kids ages 5 to 12 years, Adventure Adventure Playground is also open for birthday parties and other events.

Surf City Grunion Runs

Description: Grunion (Leuresthes tenuis) are members of the New World silversides family, Atheriniopsidae, along with the jacksmelt and topsmelt. They normally occur from Point Conception, California, to Point Abreojos, Baja California. Occasionally, they are found farther north to Monterey Bay, California and south to San Juanico Bay, Baja California. During the open season a fishing license is required for persons 16 years and older to capture grunion. Grunion may be taken or captured by bare hands only. No gloves or nets can be used. No holes may be dug in the beach to entrap them. There is no limit, but take only what you can use. It is unlawful to waste fish. With these regulations, the resource seems to be maintaining itself at a fairly constant level.
